While growing up, the only person we tend to respect after parents are our Teachers. On 5th September, 2018 as a mark of accolade to the part played by the teacher, Hongirana organized Teachers Day which is the birth anniversary of great mentor Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The celebration started sharp at 9.10 AM with a special assembly by the teachers. The stage for the formal program was graced by the chief guest of the function Prof.Thirumala Mavinakuli, president Mr.Anil kumar T G, Principal Mrs.Shobha Ravindra, and the head of all the sections. The formal program began with the students presenting gift to the teachers as a token of love and respect.
On this great occasion, with the purpose of felicitating a retired teacher, Prof.Thirumala Mavinakuli, a retired lecturer in Kannada who rendered his service in teaching for more than 30 years was cordially invited as chief guest and felicitated. After receiving the felicitation, he shared his valuable thoughts with the audience through stories in order to reach the students of all the age group. His wordings were designed to have a positive impact on the lives of all.
Our principal Mrs.Shobha Ravindra in her talk said that the real gift for teachers is when students possess zeal to work hard which makes teachers happy.
In the foreword Mrs Rajashree, Head of the Middle section stressed on the importance of teachers and celebration of Teachers day. Programme was anchored by Sahana K G of 2nd PUC. Gurudatt and Smriti of 2nd PUC lauded the teachers for guiding and inspiring them. Guests on the stage were welcomed by Manasa of 2nd PUC. Programme was started with a prayer song sung by the Choir Group.
With the presidential remarks from Mr.Anil Kumar T G, the programme was called to an end after rendering a warm vote of thanks to the gathering by Supriya of 1st PUC. Formal function was followed by colorful cultural programme presented by the teachers. The enthusiasm and festivity of students and teachers made the day a memorable.
